Easy Sugar Free Date and Banana Fruit Bars
Delicious and nutritious, these sugar-free banana and date fruit bars are a healthy and low-calorie treat, perfect for breakfast or as a quick snack on the go!
These dried fruit bars are great to prepare for breakfast or a snack anytime of day. With only 3 ingredients - oats, banana and dates, they are quick and easy to bake, and contain no eggs, no dairy and no wheat!
When you don't want to use any processed sugar, the toffee-sweetness of dates is always a brilliant ingredient to have on hand.
The base of the these fruit bars is the banana, and as they are egg-free, the banana is what holds everything together. These will be even sweeter if you use a ripe banana.
You need to thoroughly mash the banana so it will distribute easily through the mixture.
Blend half of the oats, with a stick blender or nutribullet for a few seconds and then add all the oats to the mix.
Keep stirring and you'll end up with a sticky dough, press into a lined tin or oven-proof tray and bake for 20 minutes until firm.
Allow to cool before slicing. If you slice it into 5 fruit bars then they are only 106 calories each!
These fruit bars are plenty sweet enough without refined sugar!
Thanks to the oats they are very filling too. I hope you enjoy this recipe!
