Homemade Walnut Rosemary Bread
Super easy delicious rosemary and walnut bread recipe, no kneading needed! Perfect drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, spread with butter or served with cheese!
I love the flavour combination of walnuts and fresh rosemary! This bread smells amazing when baking.
It's such a simple recipe, once you've made it a couple of times you'll be able to easily adapt this for many different ingredient combinations.
Just combine the dry ingredients together, then prepare the hot water which will activate the yeast.
Because we aren't using refined sugar, we need the warm water to achieve a good rise, which only takes about an hour.
The water needs to be hand-hot, not too hot for your hand so that it doesn't kill the yeast.
It's easiest to simply stir the dough with a blunt knife until it all comes together, and the flour is fully combined.
Cover with a clean towel and allow to rise in a warm place.
Then tip out your dough onto a floured surface and gently form into a long loaf shape. No kneading required!
Bake in a preheated oven at gas mark 7 (220c / 425F) for 55 minutes.
You'll know it's done when you tap on the bottom and it sounds hollow. Bake for another 5 minutes upside down if not.
There is nothing like the smell of freshly baked bread with walnuts and rosemary!
There are many delicious serving options:
- Toasted, spread with butter
